The official app for the FotoFest Biennial 2022, titled "If I Had a Hammer," serves as a comprehensive guide to the wide array of exhibitions, programs, and events associated with the festival. This includes Creative Conversations lectures, artist performances, guided tours, and symposiums focusing on photographic arts and film.

Founded by photojournalists Fredrick Baldwin and Wendy Watriss, FotoFest is a Houston-based contemporary arts organization committed to the advancement of photography and visual culture. The organization emphasizes an exploration of social, cultural, and political histories through the medium of photography and related disciplines. Central to its mission is the presentation of exhibitions, public programs, and publications that foster greater understanding of contemporary life.

In addition to its year-round initiatives, FotoFest hosts a biennial city-wide project that features large-scale exhibitions alongside curated lectures, performances, symposia, and film programs. The organization also facilitates several professional development opportunities such as the Meeting Place Portfolio Reviews, which brings together over 400 artists and 150 professionals in the art and photography sectors each year.
